My name is Juliet, and I am a 24 year old woman with a passion for front-end development. Since my graduation from the University of Wisconsin in May 2024, I have been working in the Business Technology Rotational Program at Discover Financial Services (now Capital One Finance). I am currently working as a database engineer, but I really found my niche in my first rotation as a front-end engineer, where I developed a user reporting portal for an internal-facing payment platform and remediated proprietary components for compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines. It’s my goal within my career to get back to front-end work.
As is a common pitfall for many, I neglected to move my coursework projects over from my university GitHub account to my personal account, and ended up losing access to all of my college repositories when my .edu email was disabled. In lieu of a GitHub account full of coursework and previous projects, I developed this site to showcase my front-end abilities. This site was built using NextJS and each component was created specifically for the site, primarily in TypeScript and JavaScript. The styling is a combination of CSS modules and Tailwind in-line styling. The "contact me" form is configured using Nodemailer to send an email with the contents of the message to my personal email. The site is deployed to the web using AWS Amplify.
I am local to Chicago, IL USA, but willing to relocate wherever my career may take me. In my free time (when it’s not too cold in the Windy City) I enjoy distance running, cooking, sewing, and traveling.
